May is just around the corner, and that means it’s time to celebrate Building Safety Month—a nationwide campaign led by the International Code Council (ICC) to raise awareness about the importance of building codes, safety, and community resilience.

At PermitTechNation, we’re proud to join professionals across the country in recognizing the vital role that permit technicians, code officials, and building safety professionals play in keeping our communities safe.

    Why Building Safety Month Matters

From the homes we live in to the workplaces we rely on, building safety impacts every aspect of daily life. This month is an opportunity to:

    • Highlight the importance of modern, regularly updated building codes

    • Educate the public on safety practices

    • Recognize the professionals working behind the scenes to ensure safe construction

    How You Can Participate

We encourage our members and partners to get involved throughout May:

    • Share educational posts and resources on social media

    • Spotlight your local permitting and inspection teams

    • Participate in community outreach or safety events

    • Use ICC weekly themes to guide your messaging

    Join the Conversation

PermitTechNation will be sharing content, resources, and ways to engage all month long. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or new to the field, your voice helps amplify the importance of building safety.

Let’s work together this May to celebrate the people, practices, and policies that keep our communities strong and resilient.

Stay connected, get involved, and help us make Building Safety Month 2026 a success!

Design our Annual T-Shirt, all proceeds will benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Ohio.

We need your help to design this year’s ICC Annual Conference Shirts. We have a few theme ideas for the Annual Conference that will be held in Cleveland, OH, in October.

We are looking for designs and tag lines based on the items Cleveland is famous for or if you have a better theme/tag line, show us! Please include our 10th Anniversary LOGO in the design.

    -Rock N' Roll

    -The Christmas Story House

    -Arts & Culture

    -Industrial Hub

Feel free to Google, there are many "What is Cleveland known for" ideas.

Please note the folder titled Anniversary Logo Background means the logo itself has a colored background and is suitable for using over multiple colors or darker colors, the folder titled Anniversary Logo Main has a transparent background, which means the substrate will show through.

T-Shirts should be no more than 3-4 colors including the shirt color. Preferably the design should work on multiple shirt colors.

Deadline for design submittal is July 15, 2025. Please submit all design ideas below.

The ICC ABM Planning Committee will review the designs, and the winner will receive a free PTN hosted education class of the winners choice. Winners will be notified via email on or before August 1st.
